Simple Bread Rolls Recipe
★Ingredients
500g bread flour (or all-purpose flour)
10g salt
10g sugar
10g dry yeast
300ml warm water (approximately)
30ml olive oil (optional, for softness)
Extra flour for dusting
★Instructions
Prepare the dough: In a large bowl, mix the flour, salt, sugar, and yeast. Gradually add the warm water and olive oil (if using) while mixing. Knead the dough by hand or using a mixer with a dough hook for about 10 minutes, until smooth and elastic.
First rise: Cover the dough with a clean cloth or plastic wrap and let it rise in a warm place for about 1-1.5 hours, or until it has doubled in size.
Shape the dough: Once risen, punch down the dough to release the air. Divide the dough into equal parts (based on the size of the rolls you desire). Shape each portion into a ball or rectangular shape (as seen in the image). Place the dough pieces on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, leaving space between them.
Second rise: Dust the dough lightly with flour, then cover and let it rise again for about 30-45 minutes, or until puffy and doubled in size.
Bake: Preheat your oven to 200°C (400°F). Bake the rolls for 15-20 minutes, or until golden brown on top.
Cool and serve: Remove the rolls from the oven and allow them to cool on a wire rack before serving.
