Easy Breakfast Cheese Danish
Flaky crescent rolls filled with a rich cream cheese mixture and topped with a sweet glaze—perfect for breakfast or brunch!
Ingredients
For the Danish:
2 cans (8 oz each) refrigerated crescent rolls
2 packages (8 oz each) cream cheese, softened
1 cup granulated sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 large egg
1 egg white (for brushing)
For the Glaze:
1/2 cup powdered sugar
2 tablespoons milk (or heavy cream for a richer glaze)
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions
Step 1: Prepare the Pan and Dough
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
Grease a 13×9-inch baking pan with nonstick spray or butter.
Open one can of crescent rolls and lay the dough flat in the prepared pan, pressing the seams together to form a solid layer.
Step 2: Make the Cream Cheese Filling
In a medium bowl, beat the softened cream cheese, granulated sugar, vanilla extract, and egg together using a hand mixer or whisk.
Mix until the filling is smooth and creamy, with no lumps.
Step 3: Assemble the Danish
Spread the cream cheese mixture evenly over the crescent roll layer in the pan.
Open the second can of crescent rolls and lay it over the cream cheese mixture. Gently stretch it to fit the pan and press the seams together.
Brush the top layer with the egg white to give the danish a golden, glossy finish.
Step 4: Bake the Danish
Bake in the preheated oven for 35-45 minutes, or until the top is golden brown.
Remove from the oven and let it cool in the pan for about 20 minutes before adding the glaze.
Step 5: Make and Add the Glaze
In a small bowl, whisk together the powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla extract until smooth.
Drizzle the glaze evenly over the cooled danish.
Slice into squares or rectangles and serve warm or at room temperature.
Pair with a hot cup of coffee or tea for a complete breakfast treat!
